History

The history of DIRT Late Model racing can be traced back to the origins of the automobile and competitive auto racing itself. However, what is viewed in today’s terms of a DIRT “Late Model” has grown, flourished and evolved substantially over the decades. The evolution of DIRT Late Model racing as it’s known today began to form around 1965 when technology met the track.

By 1967 this particular form of motor sports had begun to attract more and more competitors and race fans which resulted in higher paying, higherpro file racing events. In 2001 there was even a MILLION DOLLAR TO WIN DIRT Late Model race at Eldora Speedway.

Boundless Motor Sports realized the huge potential of DIRT Late Models and the power of the World of Outlaws brand. On January 9th, 2004 it was able to sign contracts with 12 of the top DIRT Late Model drivers in the country. Using the brand name that has been synonymous with the greatest short DIRT track Sprint Car racing, DIRT MotorSports expands the brand to also include the greatest DIRT Late Model racers. Within weeks of the formation of the series, tracks have lined up to schedule over 45 races for the 2005 Series.
