World Racing Group Series
Sprint Model Series Overview:
World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Cars compete on dirt tracks in the US, mostly 1/3 to 1/2 mile in length. The WoO series has been in existence since 1978, and is acknowledged as the top Sprint Car series in the world.
WoO race venues are primarily smaller facilities located in B/C/D counties accessible to major media markets. Television exposure with TNN (1995 to 2001), Speed Channel (2002), and our current partnership with The Outdoor Channel since 2003 has dramatically increased exposure to WoO racing in recent years. Additionally, there has been a surge in the construction of new racing facilities in several markets, adding to the recent growth of the sport.
WoO Sprint Cars are front engine, open wheel race cars with V-8 engines producing 800+ horsepower in a car that weighs approximately 1375 pounds, providing one of the highest power-to-weight ratios of any racing series in the world. WoO Sprint Cars are characterized by large aluminum wings, which create down force increasing speed and absorbing energy in crashes.
The origin of the “Outlaw” name dates to a time when top Sprint Car drivers traveled around the country to compete wherever the largest prize money was offered. The “Outlaws” competed against the best local or regional drivers, usually taking the biggest share of the prize. |
Late Model Series Overview:
The history of DIRT Late Model racing can be traced back to the origins of the automobile and competitive auto racing itself. However, what is viewed in today’s terms of a DIRT “Late Model” has grown, flourished and evolved substantially over the decades. The evolution of DIRT Late Model racing as it’s known today began to form around 1965 when technology met the track.
By 1967 this particular form of motor sports had begun to attract more and more competitors and race fans which resulted in higher paying, higherpro file racing events. In 2001 there was even a MILLION DOLLAR TO WIN DIRT Late Model race at Eldora Speedway.
Boundless Motor Sports realized the huge potential of DIRT Late Models and the power of the World of Outlaws brand. On January 9th, 2004 it was able to sign contracts with 12 of the top DIRT Late Model drivers in the country. Using the brand name that has been synonymous with the greatest short DIRT track Sprint Car racing, DIRT MotorSports expands the brand to also include the greatest DIRT Late Model racers. Within weeks of the formation of the series, tracks have lined up to schedule over 45 races for the 2005 Series. |
DIRT Modifed Series Overview:
